As Lead UX/UI Designer I was brought on to restructure and assist with Playworld’s website redesign. Playworld is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity through innovative and authentic play, and they recognized the need for a modern website to better showcase this commitment. As an experienced web designer, I was honored to be a part of this project.
I was responsible for creating the information architecture for the new website, including defining its goals, conducting a content inventory, and creating a hierarchical structure for the content. I then worked with the internal Playworld design team to create wireframes for the website, ensuring that the vision and goals of the website were accurately reflected and that the end result would be user-friendly and intuitive for the target audience.
One of the main design challenges was to reinvent the hero area for the home page. Playworld wanted an innovative solution that had never been seen before, so I came up with an immersive 3D experience that allowed customers to get a real sense of what it was like to be inside one of their playgrounds. I directed the Playworld team on how to properly take 3D images and collaborated with the development team to bring this idea to life. The end result was an innovative and engaging hero area that truly stands out from the competition.
As a design consultant, I also contributed my expertise in motion design to the project, adding interactive elements to the website to enhance the user experience. The redesign was a collaborative effort between my design consulting and the internal team's design, resulting in a modern, user-friendly website that perfectly captures the company's mission and values. The new website received positive feedback for its refreshed design, clear messaging, and improved user experience, and it has helped to increase Playworld's online presence and reach.
Playworld is a leading manufacturer of children's playgrounds that is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity through innovative and authentic play. Founded with the mission of uniting communities through the power of play, Playworld is committed to creating equal play opportunities for all.
Playworld recently recognized the need for a modern website redesign in order to better showcase their innovative and inclusive playgrounds. While they had an in-house design team, they lacked the necessary experience in web design to complete the project successfully.
As an experienced web designer, I was able to work alongside the Playworld design team to facilitate and contribute to the fresh new website redesign. The result is a modern, user-friendly website that perfectly captures the spirit of Playworld's commitment to bringing people together through the joy of play.

I was responsible for creating the information architecture for a new website. This involved defining the goals of the website, conducting a content inventory, and creating a hierarchical structure for the website. To do this, I organized the main categories and subcategories of content in a logical hierarchy and designed a main navigation menu. My goal was to make the website as user-friendly as possible for our target audience.
Creating wireframes for the Playworld website with the in-house design team was a collaborative process. Wireframing is an important step in web design as it allows designers to plan the layout, functionality, and content of a website before diving into the visual design.
To begin, I held meetings with the Playworld team to discuss the goals and needs of the website. With this information, I set to work creating rough sketches of the various pages and templates that would be needed for the website. These sketches were then refined and turned into digital wireframes.
Throughout the process, I made sure to involve the Playworld team in the decision-making process and to gather their feedback on the wireframes. This collaboration allowed us to create wireframes that accurately reflected the vision and goals of the website, while also being user-friendly and intuitive for the target audience.
One of the main design challenges that Playworld tasked me with was completely reinventing the hero area for their home page. They wanted an innovative solution that "no one has seen before", so I spent a lot of time ideating to come up with a unique out of the box idea.
My solution was to create an immersive 3d experience that allowed customers to get a real sense of what it was like to be inside one of Playworld's playgrounds utilizing 3d imagry. I worked closely with the Playworld team to direct them on how to properly take 3d images, and also collaborated with our development team to bring this idea to life.
One of the key challenges was to get the hero area to synch with the gyroscope of the user's mobile device. I wanted the user to be able to move their phone in 3d space and have it act as a window into Playworld's 3d photo environment. It was a complex project, but the end result was an innovative and engaging hero area that truly stands out from the competition.
In the redesign of Playworld's website, I was brought on as an experienced web designer to work alongside the company's in-house design team. Taking on the role as a design consultant, I was able to provide guidance and expertise in creating wireframes for the new website. However, the internal design team at Playworld expressed a desire to lead the majority of the design decisions for the project.
I was able to contribute my expertise in motion design to the project, as the team utilized my knowledge to add interactive elements to the website. This included animating product line art, adding movement to icons they designed, and interactive rollover states. These interactive elements helped to enhance the user experience and bring the spirit of Playworld's commitment to community and inclusivity through play to life on the website. Overall, it was a collaborative effort between my design consulting and the internal team's design direction that resulted in a modern, user-friendly website that perfectly captures the company's mission and values.

The new website is much more modern, with a sleek design that effectively showcases the company's commitment to creating innovative and inclusive playgrounds. The website now provides a much improved user experience and makes it easy for users to find the information they need and explore the wide range of playgrounds that Playworld offers.
Additionally, the redesign was successful in showcasing the company's wide range of inclusive playgrounds, effectively highlighting the unique features and benefits of each playground.
